After-Pregnancy Tips – Tips to Reduce Hair Loss

A pregnant woman has a lot on her plate both during her pregnancy and afterward. While she’s carrying her baby, her body will change dramatically and she’ll experience mood swings, raging hormones, swollen body parts, and many other things. After the baby has been born, she will have to spend a great deal of time caring for it while getting little sleep and taking care of the rest of the family. Depression may really kick in once she finds out that her hair is beginning to fall out. Women can cope with this a bit better once they realize that it’s only temporary and her hair will get back to normal in a little while.

You shouldn’t worry too much about it though. Don’t fret about your hair and focus on caring for your newborn, knowing that things will get back to normal soon enough. Nature intended your body to act the way that it is. During pregnancy, your hormone levels were much more than they were normally. You would normally lose hair on a daily basis, but this didn’t happen while you were pregnant. You may have noticed that while you were pregnant your hair was particularly thick and lush, and this is the reason why. However, once your hormones return to pre-pregnancy levels after the birth of your baby, your hair starts making up for lost time. Instead of losing the normal 100 hairs a day, you may find it falling out in bunches.

If you’d rather minimize the amount of hair you lose during this process, fortunately, there are a few things that you can do. Some of them include:

* Biotin and silicia are two ingredients that your shampoo should have. Your hair will become much healthier thanks to these nutrients.

* After shampooing or showering, allow your hair to dry without combing it out first. If you comb wet hair, then it will fall out much more easily.

* You can also minimize hair loss by wearing certain hair styles. You should consider wearing cornrows or braids to keep your hair in place.

* Eat healthy foods. Foods that are rich in vitamins A, B, and C will provide your body with the nutrients it needs to keep all of your systems, including your hair, healthy and strong.
